Study Summary
This trial is testing whether the current pump initiation protocol results in more hypoglycemic episodes than usual.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for children with Type 1 Diabetes who are about to start insulin pump therapy at CHU Sainte-Justine and have an HbA1c level between 7.2 and 9.7%. They must live within 50km of the hospital, have been diagnosed over a year ago unless they use less than 0.5U/kg/day of insulin, and agree to participate.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study observes how often kids experience low blood sugar episodes three days before versus three days after starting on an insulin pump, using the current protocol for initiating pump therapy.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
