- I haven't been stable on my mental health medication for the last 3 months.My pain level is at least a 3 out of 10.I have been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.I have not been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.I can dedicate an hour a week for 8 weeks for this study.I have been on the same mental health medication for the last 3 months.I am currently undergoing therapy or counseling.My average pain level is below 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.You cannot see or have vision problems.I am under 18 years old.I am 18 years old or older.I am currently having thoughts about harming myself.I have been on the same mental health medication for the last 3 months.People who took part in the previous ACT pilot study.You have serious mental health conditions like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.I have not had constant pain for the last 3 months.I have been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.My pain level is at least a 3 out of 10.
- Group 1: Online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Intervention + Phone Coaching
- Group 2: Waitlist Control
- Group 3: Online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Intervention without phone coaching
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.

What objectives has this research endeavor set to achieve?
"The principal aim of this medical experiment, which will be observed over the course of baseline assessment, 8 intervention weeks, a one-week follow up period, 1 month after treatment and 3 months afterwards is to identify any change in pain intensity as quantified by the Numeric Rating Scale. Secondary objectives incorporate measuring alteration in sleep dysfunction with the Sleep Diary (a 14-item measure) and Insomnia Severity Index (7-item questionnaire), plus determining what percentage of patients achieved Minimally Clinically Important Difference (MCID). MCID represents at least 2 point decrease on 4 NRS items or 1 point reduction on Pain Interference subscale"
