What You Need to Know Before You Apply

What is the purpose of this trial?

The purpose of this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study is to evaluate the efficacy of the acute effects of an investigational supplement (Alpha Brain or Alpha Brain 2.0) on improving cognitive performance, vigilance, and subjective mood in healthy adults compared to placebo during a period of acute sleep deprivation under conditions of controlled sleep deprivation.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

Inclusion Criteria

Willingness to meet all study requirements and restrictions. Including willing to arrive in lab in a sleep deprived state (≤ or =5 hours), willing to avoid alcohol consumption 72 hours prior to testing days, and willing to avoid caffeine within 12 hours prior to testing days.
I am willing to keep my usual diet and habits during the study.
I am healthy and between 20 and 59 years old.

Exclusion Criteria

I currently have a fever or cold-like symptoms.
History of anxiety disorders
I have not consumed alcohol for at least 72 hours before and during the study days.

Timeline for a Trial Participant

Screening

Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial

1-2 weeks

Treatment

Participants undergo three experimental conditions: Alpha Brain, Alpha Brain 2.0, and placebo, each separated by a minimum 3-day washout period. Cognitive testing, mood assessments, and safety monitoring are conducted following overnight sleep restriction.

Follow-up

Participants are monitored for safety and effectiveness after treatment
