- I need a standard hip or knee replacement without special procedures.I have a joint disease like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.I am currently taking medication that affects CYP3A4 enzyme activity.I will need a long-term urinary catheter after surgery.I need long-term blood thinner medication.I have had a blood clot in my lungs or veins in the last year.My BMI is over 40.I have someone to support me before, during, and after my surgery for a week.I am currently on corticosteroids or have been in the past year.I have a condition that affects my nervous system or balance.I have a condition that increases my risk of bleeding during and after surgery.My kidney function is low, with a clearance rate under 30 ml/min.I am between 18 and 75 years old.I agree to use extra birth control for a month after taking Emend/Aprepitant before surgery.I need help moving around due to a problem not related to the joint getting replaced.I need special care during surgery, like ICU or dialysis.
- Group 1: Fast-track total hip or knee arthroplasty
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
