What is the purpose of this trial?
This pilot study evaluates the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness of mailing buprenorphine to individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) following medical hospitalization. The intervention aims to improve retention in treatment by overcoming barriers such as transportation and pharmacy access.

Screening
Participants are screened for eligibility to participate in the trial
Treatment
Participants receive buprenorphine during their inpatient stay and are enrolled in the MOUD Direct Delivery Program for monthly mail delivery of medication
Follow-up
Participants are monitored for retention in treatment and other outcomes such as quality of life and healthcare utilization
