Study Summary

This trial will assess the feasibility and acceptability of a smoking cessation app prototype among American Indian smokers, as well as its preliminary efficacy for smoking cessation.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for American Indian adults who own a smartphone, smoke at least 3 cigarettes per day, and are interested in quitting. They must speak and read English and not have started or changed smoking cessation medication in the past month.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing two versions of a smoking cessation app called QuitGuide: one tailored specifically for American Indians (tailored QuitGuide) and a standard version to see how feasible, acceptable, and effective they are in helping participants quit smoking.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves using an app rather than medication, there aren't typical side effects like with drugs. However, users may experience frustration or stress if technical issues arise or if they find it challenging to follow the app's guidance.
