iDECIDE Trial Summary

This trial will test if a new program called iDECIDE, which uses therapeutic methods instead of punishment, is more effective than punishment in reducing substance use among school students.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for middle and high school students who have faced substance use-related issues at school. Participants need consent from a parent or guardian if under 18, or must provide their own consent if 18+. They should be able to read/write in English and participate safely as judged by the study team. Those with severe cognitive impairments or without parental consent are excluded.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The iDECIDE program, an educational curriculum aimed at empowering students and providing alternatives to punishment for substance use incidents at schools, is being tested for its effectiveness.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves an educational program rather than a medical intervention, traditional side effects associated with medications are not applicable. However, participants may experience emotional discomfort when discussing substance use.
