- You have a high risk of attempting suicide.You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia in the past.You have a serious problem with drugs or alcohol.You have a severe medical or neurological condition, such as a stroke or seizures.The study team and the Principal Investigator have decided that you cannot participate safely in the study or your participation may not bring meaningful results.You have a type of PTSD called dissociative PTSD.You have a type of PTSD that develops after a significant amount of time has passed since the traumatic event.You cannot have an MRI because you have metal in your body or are unable to be in the scanner due to claustrophobia or severe back pain.You have a mental health condition called psychosis.You have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the past.You have been through a traumatic experience that has caused symptoms such as flashbacks, avoiding reminders, negative thoughts and feelings, and feeling on edge. The trauma could be from violence like combat, physical assault, or sexual assault.
- Group 1: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
- Group 2: Muscle Relaxation Therapy (MRG)
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
