Frequently Asked Questions
Does the age limit for this experiment extend beyond octogenarians?
"This clinical trial is specifically for patients aged 7 to 12 years old. For those outside this age range, there are 223 trials open to minors and 701 for elderly individuals over the age of 65."
What outcomes is this trial striving to produce?
"The main objective of this trial to be assessed over a 6, 12, and 18 month interval is Cost-effectiveness. Other metrics that will inform the results include Child Nutrition (Self-reported servings of fruits & veggies per day), Parent BMI, and Parent Physical Activity (measured in minutes of moderate/vigorous activity)."
For whom is enrollment in this medical experiment suitable?
"This experiment is looking for 151 subjects aged 7 to 12 who suffer from obesity. To qualify, the child or parent must not have any psychological disorders that could interfere with participation and the BMI of an applicant should be higher than 85th percentile but lower than 120% of 95th percentile or 35kg/m2 depending on age and gender. Furthermore, no medications which directly affect weight can be taken by a potential subject unless dosage remains stable and does not target body mass changes. Finally, all participants are expected to attend every clinical session without fail regardless of treatment arm assignment."
Are there any vacancies left for participants in the investigation?
"According to clinicaltrials.gov, signups for this specific medical trial are not currently being accepted; the study was first posted on April 18th 2017 and has since been updated as recently as July 6th 2022. Fortunately, 1134 other trials have open enrollment at present."
