Antithymocyte Globulin + Cyclosporine for Leukemia
Study Summary
This trial is studying how well giving antithymocyte globulin together with cyclosporine works in preventing graft-versus-host disease in patients who are undergoing chemotherapy with or without radiation therapy followed by donor stem cell transplant for acute lymphoblastic leukemia or acute myeloid leukemia.

- I am not receiving any specially treated bone marrow or stem cell transplants.I have secondary AML.I am only in a study for life-saving treatment or after trying all other options.I have not received IV immunoglobulin before my stem cell transplant took.My kidney function is normal or only slightly impaired.I haven't received fludarabine or similar drugs before my current treatment.I have not had a bone marrow transplant from a donor with HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or syphilis.My cancer is in its first or second complete remission.I have a family donor who matches me perfectly for a transplant.My brain or spinal cord disease is under control.I can care for myself but may not be able to do heavy physical work.I have been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or acute lymphoblastic leukemia.My treatment plan is consistent with others at my center.I am not allergic to medications made from rabbit proteins.I don't have any major health or mental issues that would stop me from joining the study.I am between 18 and 55 years old.I have not taken methotrexate for preventing graft-vs-host disease.I am currently on a strong chemotherapy treatment that includes cyclophosphamide.
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
