This trial will evaluate a culturally-targeted intervention to improve the cardio-metabolic health of American Indians with type 2 diabetes who live in rural areas. The intervention will focus on budgeting, purchasing, and cooking skills for a healthy diet.

- You are a member of a Native American tribe in the United States.You have had weight-loss surgery in the past.You are currently receiving dialysis treatment.You are pregnant.You have difficulty thinking or remembering things.You do not have a secure place to cook or store food, such as if you are homeless.
- Group 1: Intervention Arm
- Group 2: Control Arm
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.

"This research endeavour aims to assess the transformation in self-reported sugar-sweetened beverage intake (measured by the Nutrition Assessment Shared Resource Food Frequency Questionnaire) at baseline, 6 months and 12 months. Secondary objectives include evaluating intervention reach (the proportion of those approached that join the trial), food budgeting skills change measured using theFood Resource Management Scale over a six month period and twelve month period, as well as cooking ability modification evaluated through a minor alteration of the Cooking Confidence Scale during both time periods."
