DC-MARVEL Trial Summary

This trial will test whether a digital cognitive health program can help prevent or delay dementia in middle-aged to older adults.

Who is the study for?
Adults aged 45-75 with a risk of dementia, fluent in English, able to text and email using their own smartphone and internet. They should have a healthy weight range (BMI 18.5-39.9) but carry certain dementia risks like low education or health issues such as diabetes or hypertension. Excludes those with severe mental/neurological conditions, recent serious illness, learning disabilities, current pregnancy or participation in similar programs.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The DC MARVEL study is testing if a digital cognitive health program (MindMate + Health Coaching) can lower the risk of developing dementia compared to just receiving health education. Participants will be randomly placed into one of these two groups for two years to compare outcomes on brain function and overall health.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves digital coaching and educational interventions rather than medications, traditional side effects are not expected. However, participants may experience fatigue or stress from new activities or changes in routine.
