Study Summary
This trial will help to expand the evidence base for the use of ablative fractional CO2 laser therapy in the treatment of hypertrophic scars and will develop an evidence-based protocol for the treatment of these scars in the pediatric population.

- You have conditions that make it unsafe for you to receive general anesthesia.Children between 1 and 17 years old who have scars that are raised and thick, caused by an injury or burn, and have not changed for at least 3 months after the wound has healed.Children between 1 and 17 years old who have scars that got thicker and raised after an injury or burn, but the scars are now closed and have been that way for at least 3 months.You have any open wounds or scars that are not fully healed.
- Group 1: Control half of scar
- Group 2: Laser treatment half of scar
- No Placebo-Only Group - All patients enrolled in this study will receive some form of active treatment.
- Screening: It may take up to 3 Weeks to process to see if you qualify in this trial.
- Treatment: The duration you will receive the treatment varies.
- Follow Ups: You may be asked to continue sharing information regarding the trial for 6 Months after you stop receiving the treatment.
