Study Summary

This trial will test whether Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help to change the way the brain processes pain, potentially reducing chronic pain.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals who have been experiencing muscular-skeletal, non-neuropathic chronic pain for at least a year. It's not suitable for those with certain types of pain conditions like RSD, pregnant women, people over the MRI weight limit or with incompatible implants, anyone awaiting surgery related to their pain, involved in litigation about their pain, suffering from psychiatric disorders or malignancy affecting their chronic pain.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study examines if group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combined with a relapse prevention program called Therapeutic Interactive Voice Response (TIVR) can change how the brain processes chronic pain. Participants will also receive Pain Education and some may be assigned to a control group without TIVR.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves psychotherapy and educational interventions rather than medication, typical drug side effects are not expected. However, participants might experience emotional discomfort or distress as they explore cognitive and behavioral aspects of managing chronic pain.
