This trial will test whether an online intervention can reduce firearm injury risk in caregivers of people with dementia.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for informal caregivers in the U.S. who look after someone with dementia at home and have access to a firearm. Participants must speak English or Spanish and have internet access. Caregivers of those in legal custody or institutionalized cannot join.Check my eligibility

Safety in Dementia is an online tool that, in a stepwise fashion, guides a caregiver individual through decisions related to firearm access for a person with dementia. It includes information and a comparison of the options and their risks and benefits. It guides the caregiver through clarification of personal feelings and values and identifying their decision/plan.
Group II: Web controlActive Control1 Intervention
The control group will view National Institute on Aging Home Safety Checklist.
