Study Summary

This trial will develop a text messaging intervention to help postpartum women who are drinking too much.

Who is the study for?
The BabySTEPs trial is for English-speaking women aged 18-45 who recently gave birth to an infant in their care and are experiencing risky drinking patterns. They must own a text-enabled cell phone and have scored 2 or higher on the T-ACE alcohol risk screener, with recent weekly drinking or episodes of heavy drinking before pregnancy.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
This study is developing a text messaging intervention (TMI) aimed at reducing risky alcohol consumption among postpartum women. The TMI will be theory-driven and adaptive to individual needs, providing support through texts.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
As this trial involves a non-invasive text messaging intervention, there are no direct physical side effects expected from participation. However, participants may experience emotional discomfort when discussing their alcohol use.
