Study Summary

This trial will test whether a splint can improve access to the upper airway and digestive tract for people with a difficult time accessing those areas.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals who need a procedure on their upper aerodigestive tract (UADT). They can't have had prior surgery to the tongue or mouth that would prevent using a splint, shouldn't have TMJ dysfunction or an allergy to local anesthetics, and must be able to open their mouth wide enough for the splint.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing whether using a splint improves access to the UADT for better diagnosis and treatment. The hypothesis suggests that this tool could make it easier for healthcare providers to see and work on this part of the body.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Potential side effects may include discomfort from wearing the splint, possible allergic reactions if sensitivity to materials exists, and jaw pain in case of pre-existing conditions like TMJ dysfunction.
