Study Summary

This trial will evaluate whether parents who install child restraints while communicating with a remote expert technician via interactive virtual presence achieve installations and learning that are not inferior in their safety to parents who install restraints live with a remote technician onsite.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for parents who own a vehicle and have a child using a harnessed car seat. Participants must be able to physically install the car seat and communicate in English or Spanish. Those with disabilities preventing installation or non-English/Spanish speakers may not qualify.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if remote guidance via interactive virtual technology is as good as having a live technician present when parents install child restraints. Parents will be randomly chosen to use either the virtual system or work with an on-site expert.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
There are no medical side effects involved in this trial since it's about installing car seats correctly, not about taking medication. However, incorrect installation could potentially result in increased risk during an actual vehicle crash.
