Study Summary

This trial will compare two methods of reducing anxiety in children to see which is more effective.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for children aged 7-17 with significant anxiety or OCD, living in Texas. A parent who lives with the child at least half the time must participate. Children already receiving certain psychotherapies, on recent medication changes, or with severe psychiatric conditions are excluded.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests 'Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions' (SPACE), where therapists guide parents to manage their child's anxiety versus a low-contact bibliotherapy version requiring minimal therapist interaction.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
As SPACE involves behavioral strategies without medications, side effects may include increased stress during adjustment periods and potential temporary increases in anxiety as new techniques are implemented.
