COW Trial Summary

This trial looks at how different amounts of carbohydrates affects wheelchair racers' performance, gastrointestinal experiences, and physiological markers during a simulated marathon.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for elite wheelchair racers who can complete a marathon in under 2 hours and have been training consistently for the past 6 months. It's not suitable for those with musculoskeletal disorders, neurological diseases, respiratory issues, pregnant individuals, or anyone with contraindications to exercise.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is looking at how different levels of carbohydrate intake affect performance and gastrointestinal comfort during a simulated marathon. The goal is to find out what amount helps improve endurance without causing stomach problems.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
While the trial focuses on carbohydrate dosing, potential side effects may include digestive discomfort such as bloating or cramps depending on individual tolerance to carbohydrate ingestion during intense physical activity.
