Study Summary

This trial will study the effects of a prescription program for fruits and vegetables on food security, child dietary patterns, and weight status.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for children aged 8-16 who are active patients at certain clinics and have received a fruit and vegetable prescription. They must speak English, as should their caregivers. Siblings can't join if one is already enrolled, nor can families planning to switch clinics or without a legal guardian present at enrollment.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests whether giving kids $15 prescriptions for fresh fruits and vegetables affects their eating habits, food security, and weight. It compares kids with different levels of exposure to the program over time—some new to it against those who've been in it longer.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves dietary changes by increasing fruit and vegetable intake through prescriptions, there aren't typical medical side effects. However, changes in diet may affect each child differently.
