The purpose of this position is to supervise the billing department operations and staff which is responsible for ensuring billing batches are worked and billed out according to the schedule. The Billing Supervisor provides direct employee supervision, including, performance assessment, payroll and time keeping, training and development, performance management, corrective action, and coaching and mentoring. The Billing Supervisor assures billing procedures are timely and compliant with policy and procedures of the authority. This is accomplished by maintaining the billing process is being run on schedule such as pickups, notices, disconnects, reconnects, and new and final accounts; monitoring arrangements made on customer accounts; revising accounting software to ensure lack of errors; making error repairs in the field. Other duties include project management, monitoring vendor contracts, troubleshooting system upgrades, and contributing to the department budgeting process.
