Overtime Eligibility: Not eligible for paid overtime in accordance with FLSA

Assists and coordinates engineering design and construction with Capital and Operating (Major Maintenance, Painting, Capitalized Assets, etc.) projects from inception to completion in order to upgrade and maintain the MTA B&T facilities in a state of good repair with minimal impact to service and revenues.

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is required
• Five (5) years’ experience in an engineering environment in design and construction project management and extensive knowledge of consultant contract selection, construction contract organization and principles, contract language, building code standards and construction cost estimating are also necessary
• A PE license is desirable
• Satisfactory equivalent combination of the above
• A valid driver's License in the state of New York is required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to properly present the Authority and to present various technical options and solutions
• The ability to organize several complex engineering projects and to follow them from initiation to completion while assuring that they remain on schedule and within budget
• The ability to assume responsibility and exercise sound engineering judgement
• The ability to interact successfully with various levels of authority, contractor and consultant personnel
• Strong organizational, administrative and estimating skills are also required
• The ability to take a conceptual idea and transform it into a design which meets the requirements of the user departments
