The candidate is a key member of the Intact Insurance Regional Team and plays a major role in working with the different levels of the organization as well as the staff at our broker partners’ offices. They will promote Intact and its products for the ultimate purpose of retaining and growing profitable multi-lines of business in accordance with the Company’s target market plan and objectives.

The candidate is responsible for retaining and increasing the volume of Intact business from partner brokerages and implements profitable growth and retention strategies for brokerages. Accountable for all technology/product initiatives and results related to Broker. The successful candidate will also assist the Branch Director in all Regional Functions involving Brokers. Assists in the preparation of the Business Development Plan for the region and ensures that it is carried out.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Working with Branch Director, responsible for the development, implementation and execution of broker relationship strategies for a group of assigned brokerages. Ensures broker relationships are healthy and prospering. Communicate/articulate organizational strategy; including product, appetite, connectivity, new rating programs, pricing methodology and basic sales skills.
  • Works in conjunction with Branch Director / Management team to execute branch objectives (growth, profitability, mix of business, retention and penetration) including the identification of market opportunities (portfolios, Broker Financial Services deals, Mid Size Enterprise (MSE)).
  • Manages and is accountable for profitability and growth of a block of brokers within branch. Builds, implements and monitor sales plans including any rehab broker plans for assigned brokerages (i.e. customized growth plans for targeted brokerages, meeting production and retention targets, MSE growth etc.).
  • Analyses business opportunities and constraints to growth for assigned brokers; make recommendations to assist brokers in the development of their specific business plan. Responsible for sales planning process and contract administration including Contingent Profit Commission.
  • Collects market intelligence information regarding various topics such as products, pricing, broker compensation, market volumes etc.
  • May have underwriting authority commensuration with experience.

Your Skills

  • Undergraduate University Degree preferred
  • 5 years of related experience, including 3 years in Business Development or working closely with the broker network and 3 years in management.
  • Knowledge of brokerage network and insurance products/services
  • Personal and Commercial Lines expertise
  • Sales and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, including team leadership
  • Must be results-oriented, and take initiative
  • Planning and organization skills with the demonstrated ability to be flexible

Note: Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. This role requires frequent travel.
