JASPER Intervention for Autism

This trial will study whether JASPER, a play-based intervention, is effective in treating children with autism spectrum disorder. The trial will last 3 years, recruiting 90 participants (10 per site per year) from Boston University, UCLA, and Weill Cornell. The participants will be randomized to receive JASPER from either a clinician or their caregiver, and after 10 weeks, will be evaluated to see if they respond to the treatment. Nonresponders will then receive a mix of clinician and caregiver-facilitated JASPER, while responders will continue to receive the same treatment for an additional 10 weeks. The outcome of
